Put a fork in it: Pure fee-for-service is over.
New national research conducted by Morning Consult and commissioned by Innovaccer found providers have moved 96% of their revenue into some form of performance risk. That figure rises to 99% by 2025.
But it’s premature to declare victory in the transition to value. While most provider organizations have taken on some type of performance risk, only 15% have moved to pure population-based payment—and that figure is stalled, projected to grow a mere 1% by 2025.
That’s just one of ten important findings revealed by a new national study of healthcare providers conducted by Morning Consult and Innovaccer.
